• Question: Do you think your line of work is any weirder or less appealing than anyone else's?

      No, I don’t. We all apply engineering ideas to our work and each line of work is different, not weirder.

      Well I work on rivers, so it’s not very weird. It’s probably quite appealing as I get to spend time out on boats and also work on construction sites which can be quite exciting with big cranes, diggers, massive power tools and all that.

      I think my work sounds less appealing than most but actually it is mostly working in an office and I really like the getting outdoors aspect of my job.

      No. I think what I do is what you would expect an engineer to do. That is, one of the jobs that you would see as typical. It may be less appealing to some but I know that a lot of my friends think I have a good job.
