No. When I was working, it demanded even more than 100% – if that were possible. However, when you are doing something that you know is essential and you enjoy doing it and working with the people involved, then the time passes without your knowing it. And you learn to sleep absolutely anywhere.

My job requires a lot of organisation – I have to organise my time, my travel, and my effort. And then I have to organise all my projects which have money to spend, people to involve, designs to think out, construction to supervise, and lots of paperwork to complete! All this takes a lot of effort… but I actually work quite reasonable hours. I normally finish by 4pm and I also get lots of great days like today when I was out on a boat all day.

When I am at work it does take all of my time and effort but I normally stop at 4:30 in teh afternoon and then don’t think about work until I am driving in the next morning.

No. Like Harriet I don’t tend to think about work once I am out of it. Sometimes it is hard, but I think it is right to get the balance between work and life. When at work I do spend most of my day working, but I do find a few minutes to chat to people around me and have a bit of banter. If I have a deadline looming in front of me I have to switch myself of everyone else and get the job done, but a lot of the time I have a bit of time for a little chit chat with my colleagues.
