No, I haven’t. I started (very young) wanting to be a steam engine driver; then a farmer; then a teacher; then an ordinary engineer and only after I turned 40 did I really “get the big”. Have a look at the answer I gave to the question, “What inspired youto first start your work ?”

And it has sure been worth the wait.

Yes and yes. I decided I want to be an engineer at the age of 15 or so. And I am not disappointed. Plus there was no waiting. I studied at school. Then I went to uni, that was great fun and then I started the work.
I imagine if you are in your teens now thinking that you will only start working when you are 22 or 23 feels like a very long way away. But it will pass very quickly and you will be very busy.

When I was young I hadn’t got a clue what I wanted to do. I first wanted to be a train driver but that was when I was only 4 years old!

Later I wanted to be a fireman, which I did for a few years and really enjoyed. But in the end engineering is the only real job I’ve had that keeps me interested and challenged, and I keep on learning new things about it all the time.
