Why do you ask all the difficult questions, Hannah ? Good question nevertheless.

My project to make a number of things/devices (like a pump and a water gun, etc) out of see-through material (acrylic plastic) for use in the classrooms of Cornwall will reach as many pupils as the teachers allow. If we have a couple of interested teachers, this could number thousands of pupils – and if I can get them into some local exhibitions, even more will be able to see them. I plan to use my contacts in the Council to help get the messages around.

What might be more important than the number of pupils who see the devices, is how the devices will help those pupils who are interested, to understand how simple pumps work. Even if only 50 or 100 have the “Ah-ha !” moment of understanding each year when they see the pump(s) at work, then we can expect to see a good number of those eventually using this knowledge in their working life. Hopefully not just in the use of a water gun. . . . . .and wouldn’t it be nice if just a few go on to helping put safe water into disadvantaged communities ?

I think probably between 150 and 200 people for mine.
